I love history. I especially love all the history, the facts, legends, myths, and all the fun associated with life in the American Old West.

Yes, a folding bike would be my suggestion for "Useful Stuff" today -- a bicycle capable of supporting an adult in some degree of biking comfort while being light enough and portable enough to store under your desk at the office.
Every since gasoline hit $1 Million a gallon, most of us have been trying hard to find ways to save on gas, to find transportation that uses little or no gasoline. (Okay, I exaggerated about that $1 Million a gallon, but it SEEMS like that much.) Many people are buying more economical cars, hybrid cars, and/or taking public transportation. A good folding bike offers the best of all worlds, really, if your transportation needs are short-range commutes: It provides healthy exercise, it's much cheaper than a hybrid car, and you'll have virtually no parking issues.
