Whether you're a "newbie" at most economic issues like I am or have an advanced understanding of the economy and investing, here's a useful website for you -- "Investopedia," located at investopedia.com.
The site is identified as a "Forbes Media Company," which certainly gives it credibility. And although the name of the site focuses on investing, it has a wealth of information and resources to understand the world of economics, why and how our economy got the way it is, and how you and I can deal with the problems out there -- sort of steps we can take to ease the blow of our current economic downturn. Aw, heck, we can call it what it is now -- a recession.
On a personal note, my son is the successful investor in our family. My wife and I are very near "retirement age," whatever that means, and currently have little or nothing to invest. But we truly can benefit from all the information on this site to learn about what's happening with today's U.S. economy.
Go take a look around. I'm sure you'll find useful information, useful links, and useful resources of every kind.
